And while there might be some fringe benefits that close loopholes and limit supply, restricting things like magazine capacity doesn’t do anything to fix the problem. Gun laws only restrict the people who follow the rules. I hate to make the extreme example and compare AirTags to guns, but it really is similar. Kneecapping a very useful product just because it could be abused (in a way that is already illegal) only stops the millions of people who could benefit greatly from using it the way intended. Not to mention that there is no shortage of other devices and products available anyways to do the same thing. No amount of technical wizardry will prevent someone who wants to misuse them from finding a way.
